Portland Crab Meat (300g)
A great way to enjoy delicious Portland crab, without having to go to the trouble of picking your own. We cook and pick fresh crabs the old fashioned way, by hand, in our own Portland premises, so none of the meat is missed, and none of the shell comes with it.
Our tasty crab meat is sold in two separate 150g resealable pots, one white meat and one brown, that can be stored in the fridge or freezer.
Portland, and only Portland. We would never source crab from anywhere else. Portland crabs are caught in ‘pots’ that take advantage of crabs’ own instincts to trap them. The crab is lured into a cage with bait through strategically placed openings that crabs can enter, but cannot escape from. Local fishermen bait and set the pots on the sea floor, leave them out for a day, then haul them up - complete with their catch.

There are plenty of delicious recipes to make with picked crab meat from pasta, risotto, and spicy Asian dishes to salads and sandwiches.
We recommend thick crab sandwiches, with cucumber, mayonnaise, white and brown meat, white pepper and malt vinegar.
Best eaten immediately.
Store in the fridge, between 0ºC-5ºC, and eat within 2-3 days.
If you don’t plan to eat within 3 days, then freeze on day of delivery and eat within 3 months. Defrost in the fridge overnight. Do not refreeze.
