About the size of a large prawn, langoustines are a delicious, sustainable alternative to prawns and crayfish. The lean, juicy meat is in the tail and has a sweet but complex taste, not unlike lobster, with a prawn-like, firm texture.
Langoustines have always been a prized Scottish catch, and their current worldwide popularity makes them more sought after than ever. We source only prime, North Atlantic langoustines, frozen at sea, landed at Peterhead and shipped to Weymouth the very next day.
Seasonality: All year.

Traditionally the tail meat has been breaded in the UK to make scampi, but these days langoustines are much more likely to be steamed or roasted in the oven and served with lemon, herb butter or aioli. They also add lots of flavour when added to stews, curries and paellas.
Try butterflying and barbecuing over a quick, high heat before serving with mayonnaise.
